Why I Chose Culinary School

When deciding my career path I considered doing things purely for monetary gains. I liked math so I thought about being an accountant or a statistician. Later, I thought about doing what I really enjoyed. I like music and play drums but I felt and still feel that I couldn't make a career out of interests like music and film.

Finally, I decided I could do something I would enjoy doing for the rest of my life and that's cooking. I have limited restaurant experience but that is one thing I could obtain at culinary school. While looking at different culinary schools I saw that Chattahoochee technical institute offer a chance to work at an on campus restaurant. The KSU webpage also seemed like it may provide some unique opportunities. "If you have a gift with food or a thirst for culinary adventure, our Culinary Apprenticeship Certificate program is for you. This innovative and lively training will get you started on a rewarding career in the culinary industry. Whether you dream of putting on large catering events or crafting unique gourmet dinners in a fine dining establishment, we can give you the background you need to make it happen." I am not yet master chef but I cook for myself daily. This is the main reason I want to be a chef is that already I enjoy cooking everyday so I feel as though I could enjoy doing it as a job.
